Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Kelly Rowland Host BET Benefit Concert Saving Ourselves

On Wednesday, April 22, artists like John Legend, Alicia Keys Tyrese, Usher, H.E.R., Jhene Aiko, Chloe x Halle, Ciara  and Charlie Wilson participated  in BET’s coronavirus relief benefit titled Saving Our Selves

Anthony Anderson, along with fellow actors Regina Hall, Kelly Rowland, and Terrence J,  hosted BET’s coronavirus relief benefit titled Saving Our Selves: A BET COVID-19 Effort on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 starting at 7:00 P.M. CDT. The New Orleans Council on Aging will be one of the charities from New Orleans to receive assistance from this event.

This event will be held in conjunction with BET Networks, United Way Worldwide, and the NAACP. The concert will be broadcast on all of the BET Network Channels including BET, BET HER, BET International Channels and the Bounce Channel.

The latest data shows that African Americans in Georgia and across the United States are being hit the hardest by the coronavirus pandemic.

African Americans make up 34 percent of the people that have died from the coronavirus in the state of Georgia, according to the latest Department of Health numbers. White people make up about 29 percent of the current coronavirus related deaths in the state and the other 35 percent of people who’ve died were racially marked as unknown.

Prior to the announcement of the special, BET partnered with United Way Worldwide and the NAACP on a relief fund that distributes money to local charities providing food and emergency assistance to those who need it the most.
